Economics of Education

What does the field study?
The relationships between education, capital, and economy, especially from the perspective of the productivity and equality of education. It examines which aspects in education should be invested in to maximize the benefits of education for the individual and society. (See Heikkilä et al., 2008)

What questions does the field examine?
How does education show in an individual’s wage level, in the growth of the national economy and wellbeing of society? What societal influence does education have on the economy, wellbeing and political decision-making?
